Starting a small business and making it a success requires hard work, focus and commitment. Start Your Business (SYB) is the first program of its kind; it polishes your potential for satisfaction and success as an entrepreneur.
Ideas and money are not constraints - having the know-how to start a sustainable business is. In the words of Prof Suresh Rao, Start Your Business (SYB) Program Coordinator, and Chairperson, Center for Entrepreneurship at S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), "We believe there is an unmet need among potential entrepreneurs in India for learning how to start and grow a business profitably and this entrepreneurship course would serve that need."
The Centre for Entrepreneurship at SPJIMR has designed a course for budding entrepreneurs who have the passion and willingness to start his/her own venture.
What is the Start Your Business Program?
Start Your Business Program is an entrepreneurial education program that serves the needs of budding entrepreneurs who have a business idea and are keen to convert it into a sustainable business. This program will assist you in acquiring the knowledge, skills and attitude for realizing your dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. You get an opportunity to network with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists , marketers, service providers and others from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Entrepreneurs in the early stages of setting up their venture will also find this program very useful for writing their business plan. The Start Your Business Program can also help graduating students to get a head start in a new business venture.
What is the duration of the program?
The SYB weekend program extends over 16 weekends with full day session on Saturday and half day on Sunday. The schedule for Saturday is from 9:00am to 6:00pm with lunch and tea breaks and for Sunday from 9:00am to 1:30pm. After the completion of 16 weekends, you will present your business plan to a panel of Venture Capitalists, entrepreneurs and mentors.
