ECONOMETRICS FOR MANAGEMENT RESEARCH

This programme is targeted at the faculty members from Business schools who are interested in doing empirical research in the area of Management and related fields using econometrics tools. The programme is foundation course.

OBJECTIVE

The objective of this programme is to provide an introduction to the participant about the subject of econometrics. It is aimed that, at the end of the course, the participants should fearlessly be able to engage in empirical research by using econometric analysis. The programme is useful to understand econometric estimation techniques, particularly linear regression analysis, through theoretical explanations and demonstrations using computer software packages.

COVERAGE

(A) Introduction to Econometrics:

  • Simple or Two Variable Linear Regression Model
  • Multiple Linear Regression Mode;
  • Practical Aspects of the Linear Regression Models - Multicollinearity, Heteroscedasticity, Autocorrelation and Model Selection.

(B) Selected Topics

  • Autoregressive and Distributed Lag Models
  • Dummy Variable Model
  • Logit and Probit Models
  • Simultaneous Equations Models
  • Introduction to Time-series Econometrics

For Participants from AICTE approved institutions : Rs. 4,000.00
From Non-AICTE approved institutions : Rs. 8,000.00

CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event of cancellation of nomination, full refund of the program fee will be made, if request is received in writing at least 15 days before commencement of the program. No refund will be made if such a request comes after this date. However, the amount can be adjusted against nominations in future programs.

DATE & VENUE

This programme will be held during October 19-24, 2009 at IIMK Campus, Kunnamangalam, Calicut. Accommodation will be provided on a twin sharing basis in the IIMK Guest Houses.

LAST DATE

Nomination forms duly endorsed by the Head of the Institution along with DD should reach the FDP Office latest by October 05, 2009. DD will be returned to those who are not selected for the programme.
